We were not impressed. Food was good- but it took 45 minutes to get water and our order taken- another 45 minutes to get our food, and then I was chareged the bottle price for a single glass of wine. I'm not going back, such a shame

Who cares about school board members and with whom some person dined? Who cares about the candles? We want to know more about the FOOD!!! What do they offer? What price ranges are the items on their menu?

Good grief!~

What? Two local school board members, two local journalists, and the head of a local business association? Clearly, Angela's is the new happening spot in Alameda! I've always loved their food, but didn't love their former location, so I'm thrilled they're downtown now.

p.s. Little servings of eggplant, big servings of dessert. Sounds like a good ratio to me...

I was dining with the school board member of which you mentioned and 2 of our children. We sat next to a former school board and his 3 children. Amazingly no fires at either table. You must be a rowdy bunch. I will say my appetizer was smaller than I would have liked but my dessert was huge. Overall I have to say for a second night open it was pretty darn good.

We went Saturday night, it was great and the place was packed. They had an all-star cast of folks helping out (the head of a certain West Alameda Business Association was there putting bread on the tables and the like) and the vibe was really fun and positive. They had the wine list in place by then but not the dessert list yet. And I could have eaten a whole plateful of that eggplant myself.
