Many thanks to the Speisekammer Restaurant and members of the Fabulous Flugelhorns for a special Christmas Eve concert from about 6 to 7 p.m. in the patio of the popular Lincoln Avenue establishment.

The San Leandro-based Fabulous Flugelhorns include three flugelhorn players who enjoy sharing traditional carols and lots of holiday cheer with a touch of the Dickens era. (Flugelhorns are brass instruments that resemble trumpets, but have a wider, conical bore or center tube.)

At the Speisekammer, the talented musicians played Christmas favorites like “Silent Night” and “Hark the Herald Angels Sing” outside, while Speisekammer staff served duck and other holiday delicacies inside.

Thanks for adding such a wonderful touch of the holidays to Alameda!
