Alameda’s Speisekammer Restaurant & Pub, near the intersection of Park Street and Lincoln Avenue, is attracting quite a crowd to its beer garden, bar and other facilities this spring.
In the April 27 edition of the East Bay Express, the Alameda establishment praised its beer offerings. It also (incorrectly) noted that visitors could “forget Lederhosen and oompah music…”
Today, May 1, Speisekammer is in fact celebrating its Mai Fest with plenty of that typical German fun. Live music from the Internationals band will be playing as members of the Golden Gate Bavarian Dance Club and others dance around the beer garden in Lederhosen and similar attire.
There will be a jump house for the kids and other activities from noon – 7 p.m. this Sunday.
