Aroma Restaurant & Bar at 2337 Blanding Avenue on the Alameda-Oakland Estuary closed its doors on Monday, November 7.
But the owners and managers of Dragon Rouge Vietnamese Bistro are re-doing the location, so that they can re-open their popular eatery in the scenic spot near the Park Street Bridge — in the Park Street Landing shopping mall — in February.
Dragon Rouge is currently doing business at 2304 Encinal Avenue, off Park Street. But senior staff members say it needs a bigger place to do business.
The area, now home to Perforce Software, as well as to a small marina run by Hansen Rigging, is becoming a trendy spot for those eating out on the Island.
Little House Cafe, at 2300 Blanding Avenue, is now open for dinner and tapas — Tuesday through Saturday. It also serves breakfast and lunch during the week, along with brunch on weekends.
