Alameda Backyard Gardeners is hosting its Autumn Garden Check-In and Potluck.
The event will take place fom 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at Rhythmix Cultural Works, 2513 Blanding Ave. The gathering is free and open to the community
Guests are asked to bring a potluck item or beverage to share during the informal evening of garden talk. They are also invited to take home some garlic bulbs and onion sets for their gardens.
The group aims for its meetings to be zero waste events and asked that everyone bring a reuseable cup, plate, utensils and napkin.
Group members and guests are invited to bring fruit and vegetable donations from their gardens for the Alameda Food Bank.
ABG will join other community groups to celebrate the opening of Alameda Family Services’ new center from 2 to 5 p.m. on Nov. 30. Local gardeners are asked to bring apples, pears, persimmons or other produce grown in Alameda for the event.
