The Alameda Summer Stroll is taking place on the second Friday of the summer months (through Sept. 13). Be sure to head over to Webster Street – between Central and Santa Clara avenues– this evening from 6 to 9 p.m.
According to event organizers, the walk begins at Trans Pacific National Bank, 1442 Webster St.
It includes live music and a special display of arts and crafts (at the intersection of Webster and Taylor Avenue), as well as sales of wines made by local vintners and food discounts at some restaurants:

- Calafia Taqueria- 10% off
- WesCafe – FREE dessert with any entree
- Otaez Mexican Restaurant – 10% off
- East Ocean Seafood Restaurant – FREE Appetizer
- Pasta Pelican – 15% off your entire bill
Also, around the corner, the Bob Claire Orchestra will perform from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. as part of the annual Concerts at the Cove series.
Pre-concert entertainment at Crab Cove Visitor Center and food sales begin at 4:30 p.m. Plus, the Crab Cove Visitor Center at 1252 McKay Avenue will be open during the concerts and will provide activities that will keep youngsters from 3 to 12 occupied as the music plays, with nature crafts on the deck, a scavenger hunt inside and fish feeding at the five aquariums.
Concerts at the Cove is sponsored and produced by the Rotary Club of Alameda, East Bay Regional Park District, and the Regional Parks Foundation. Proceeds go to scholarships for Alameda students and grants to Alameda-based nonprofit organizations.
