The Alameda Main Library presents the movie “Matilda” at 7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 3. The 90-minute film, made in 1996, is free for children and adults.
The fantasy-comedy is based on the book of the same name, written by Roald Dahl, who also wrote “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.”
The story presented is that of a young girl, played by Mara Wilson, with telekinetic powers.
Movie star Danny DeVito plays her father; he also directed and produced the film. The role of the mother is played by Rhea Perlman.
