Miracle, rite of passage, big business or all of the above?

Ricki Lake and Abby Epstein’s new documentary, “The Business of Being Born,” hits San Francisco’s silver screen with a grand premiere and after-party at the Roxie on Jan. 17 . Check out the preview here, courtesy of Red Envelope Entertainment – Netflix’ new indie film production division.

Proceeds from the premiere go to the Save St. Luke’s Hospital fund, but the movie continues to screen through the 24th, and the DVD comes out on Netflix on Feb. 12.

All of which brings us to this … We’d love to hear your birth story. Click “comments” and tell us about your baby’s arrival – 6 hours or 36? First kid or 12th? Lamaze or nada? Epidural or “natural”  – and did you feel any pressure to go one route or the other? Share the good, the bad and the ohmigod ghastly.
