Diablo superintendent Gary McHenry responds to questions concerning a $2.7 million budget discrepancy … just three short years after assuring his constituency that he was going to get his financial house in order:

“When asked what role he takes in overseeing budget development the Superintendent responded:

‘My role was simply to talk with the Chief Financial Officer and ask if the figures were accurate and I was assured that they were. But I don’t have an actual role in budget development.’

He then confirmed that he does not perform any number checking or analysis of the budget.”
