Baby Loves Disco, an afternoon dance party for families featuring groovy 70s and 80s music spun and mixed by live DJs, is well known around the nation, and this summer they’re adding San Ramon’s Shboom to their Bay Area venues.

Other Bay Area tot rockin’ hot spots include Ruby Skye in San Francisco (June 21, 2-5 p.m.) and Avalon Nightclub in the South Bay (June 14 from 2-5 p.m.) The Shboom fun will be July 19, 2-5 p.m. Make sure to buy tickets fast because the events tend to sell out. They’re $12-$15 per walking person. (Crawlers and babies get in free). It’s also good to get to the club a bit early, as parents tend to line up before the doors open to get the best spots inside.

Beyond the music and big glittery disco ball, kids get to enjoy toys like bubble machines, hula hoops and noise makers. There also are quieter spaces set aside for kids not yet ready for prime time John Travolta action. The admission includes a big spread of kid-friendly food, from fruit & bagels and hummus to juice boxes.
