The blogosphere has been up in arms over Beyonce’s new “House of Dereon” clothing line for kids, or more specifically, about the ads for it, which look like this:
The clothes themselves aren’t drawing controversy, it’s the way these kids are posed. Considering we live in a culture infused with sexual imagery – “Gossip Girls,” “Sex and the City” and every music video – it’s interesting that ads like this – or Miley Cyrus’ Vanity Fair cover – strike such a nerve.
