We are going to celebrate Christmas after the official date. This will give all of us more time for special deals that are coming. We are going to help the hungry through a church organization and focus on what we have already and what we are grateful for. In spite of much angst, we are trying to focus on the good things that are out there and share too.

We have a Christmas savings fund and for the first time are trying to use only the money in the fund for all our gift purchases. Thanks.

We just drew our “Secret Santa” names and put the limit to ten dollars instead of twenty or more. We also give the older kids gifts plus cash, but this year we are giving them just two smaller gifts and then some cash. That’s why we’ll be shopping sales to get the most for our money.

We will not be making a trip to the ancestral home this year. Air fare for a family of three is out of reach, plus the thought of flying cross-country with a two year-old scares the crap out of me.

I am cutting down on the amount that I will be spending. I’m going to use more coupons and do more comparison price shopping.

we are cutting down this year the adults drew names and put a limit on the spending. less traveling-staying home for the holidays.

We’re definitely keeping things more tame this holiday. It actually seems to help with my stress levels. I’m having fun being creative with our gift-giving.

Hey…maybe you should have some posts with suggestions from readers on how to be frugal yet creative. I could use some help in this department!

Hi! I think the economy is good and bad. The lessening of gifts in our home shows that quantity is not always necessary (almost always not)! My husband and my family are celebrating Thanksgiving together and thus having one celebration instead of two or more. No hurrying around to
more than one home! Also, instead of buying more presents for ourselves, we are giving more to the children’s home that our church sponsors. They should not have to do without. Please enter me in your wonderful giveaway drawing. I have a niece that loves this series of books!
