1. Celebrate Hanukkah and festivals of light from around the world as you explore San Francisco’s cool Contemporary Jewish Museum on Dec. 25. This free Family Day features art-making, exhibitions, and performances, with delicious holiday treats for sale in the Museum Cafe. The fun runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. tomorrow. (Free, but send a nod of thanks to Target for its support.)

2. San Francisco’s Exploratorium hosts a fun and quirky Holiday Film & Animation Festival Dec. 26-28 at noon and 2 p.m. (Free with museum admission)

3. Stretch your legs and work off some calories with a Family Hike at Chabot Space & Science Center this Sunday at 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. ($5 plus museum admission)

4. Go on a scavenger hunt at the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum in San Jose this Saturday. (Free with museum admission)

5. Or go get the wiggles out at Berkeley’s Habitot children’s museum – always a good option for families with tots. ($7-$8)
