Yes, we know you’re still recovering from the “Twilight” midnight premiere, but you might want to hasten that catch-up-on-sleep schedule. The movie comes out as a 2-disc DVD at midnight on Saturday, March 21, a date, the publicist tells us, designed “to encourage midnight release parties for fans across the nation.” Like Stephenie Meyer fans need any encouraging.
To sweeten the deal, they’re loading the DVD set ($32.99) with five extended and five deleted scenes, three music videos, commentary from director Catherine Hardwicke, as well as stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, a mini-feature on the stars’ appearance at ComicCon and a 7(!)-part documentary about the story’s filming, which may be more than you ever, ever wanted to know about Edward Cullen. Or not. And yes, the DVD is already #1 on the Amazon top selling video list.
