Gumby the Movie Last week’s giveaway comments had so many FABULOUS suggestions for summer fun, we’re going to use them as inspiration for a new, weekly feature: a recipe for backyard fun that will run every Tuesday. So don’t be surprised if you get an e-mail from us, pestering you for details on some of those awesome ideas!

OK, on to this week’s giveaway. This time, we’re featuring “Gumby the Movie,” rated G, and hot off the press. It even comes with a little bendable Gumby toy. And all you have to do to win this is click “comments” and tell us about your favorite childhood icon. Gumby? Big Bird? Captain Kangaroo? You tell us! We’ll pick a winner’s name next Monday morning. (Congrats, by the way, to Tim, who won last week’s bug book, bug fandex and bug bottle!)

Oh wow; too many to name! If I had to pick one, it would be Bugs Bunny. Those Saturday morning cartoons were the best! When those 90 minutes of bliss ended, we all knew that the Saturday chore drudgery was imminent.

What a wonderful giveaway prize drawing! Mr.Rogers is my favorite childhood icon. My mom used to tell me that
I would cry everyday when the show ended! My husband loves Gumby and Pokey! For Halloween, he wears a Gumby head piece and tee shirt to hand out the candy to the trick or treaters. This Gumby The Movie/Bendable Gumby
Toy would be a fun surprise for my husband. Please enter my name in your drawing.
    Many thanks…..Cindi

This will date me, but I just loved Felix the Cat! I still have the theme song running through my mind! I also loved Gumby and Pokey, which was a very progressive art form back when they first came out!

  4. Marci Says:

I had everything Holly Hobbie! My Mom even embroidered three big beautiful squares with Holly Hobbie on them that she was going to make into a quilt for me. She never got around to making a quilt and I still have the squares.

  5. SHartl Says:

I LOVE GUMBY!! I have two different sizes of Gumby and a teeny tiny Pokey.
When I was a little kid, I loved Mr. Potato Head. I even dressed up as Mrs. Potato Head one year. Later on, I became a Spongebob fan and still have the whole set of characters in stuffed toys!
