SWINE FLU: Parents, how’s it affecting you and your children?

If your kids are old enough to pick up on news reports, how are they reacting? Are they scared by every little sniffle or cough?

Are you doing anything to try to protect your kids from swine flu?

Are you noticing fewer kids at school, day care, kids sports or other extracurricular activities?

Has your school closed and how’s that affecting your work? Is it hard to get child care right now?

Have you tried to make a doctor’s appointment? What’s that been like?

What other impacts are you seeing?

My wife is a school teacher at Silver Oak ELementary School. One of her kids and his Mom were out sick this week with the flu. They were tested for Swine flu. While they tested negative, the school, prior to hearing about the test results, decied to wait before making a decision to close. They waited a day despite the President’s warning. Granted, the tests were negative, but I don’t understand why they never raised a warning flag or notified anyone. Who the hell is in charge?
