Father’s Day is just around the corner, so we’re offering up a Dad-pleasing book this week. Brooke Shields’ “It’s the Best Day Ever, Dad!” picture book offers a sweet glimpse of a doting daddy and his daughters having tea parties, watching basketball and making Super Duper Spaghetti Surprise. Adorable. And this book can be yours. All you have to do is click “comments” and tell us, how do you celebrate Father’s Day? We’ll draw a winner’s name next week.

We celebrate by going out to breakfast and then just spending time together all day.
This year is going to be unique as we are traveling from WA to MO to celebrate my inlaws 60th wedding anniversary. While there we will also celebrate Fathers day. It’s been a long time since my hubby was able to spend time with his Dad on Fathers day.

My two girls and I will take daddy-boy (what my oldest daughter calls him) to the park for a picnic. The day will be filled with all of our favorite things…food, wine (for the parents, of course), frisbee (or crispy, as my daughter calls it), swings, slides and lots of loving on our daddy-boy! Can’t think of a better way to spend the day.

This year we will be visiting my in-laws and celebrating Father’s Day by attending church and then going out for a lunch. Pretty much whatever my husband wants to do…that is what we will do. It is his day after all.

We usually have a BBQ for my dad but this year will be my husband’s first father’s day and my dad will be out of town so I think we are going to have a fun day at the park and doing anything that he wants to do, I might (if he is lucky) even make him his favorite calzones for dinner.

Father’s Day is food day here – Dad gets any food that he requests all day long. And of course every year he gets a tie. Its tradition!

Well, Father’s day typically involves a family barbecue and just hanging out. This year, however, will be a little different as the movers are scheduled to come move our big furniture, etc. to our new house the next day. I have a feeling we’ll be doing lots of prep and packing!

My husband as a gig early in the morning, so the best thing about Father’s Day for him is that he can come home and take a nap! But he’ll also love the handprint stepping stones my daughters made him.

I barely have a dad. He’s never with me and my family. He sort of left and abandoned us. My mom takes on the father’s role. To me, she is really super. Usually on every holiday we go out and eat at a fine restaurant. Of course, that includes father’s day. By the way in chinese culture, we celebrate father’s day on 8/8, because 8 in chinese sounds like Pa. So 8/8 means “Pa Pa.” I tend to search for an idead dad in books or movies, and hope to find one in the future who will be an ideal dad for my own family.
