Pizza....always pizza!! I add vegetables and fruit and of course cake and ice cream! Cupcakes are good if the party is away from home, otherwise it's always a big layer cake so I have leftovers!

My all-time favorite food to serve at kid's birthday parties were chicken nuggets!! I never met a kid yet who didn't like chicken nuggets! I even had vegetarian nuggets once or twice, if we had vegetarians there. I generally serve cut-up fruit and veggies like baby carrots...with ranch dip! The dessert that was always a hit was make-it-yourself sundaes. I put out 3 different flavors of ice cream and numerous toppings and whipped cream.

I have to admit I tend to serve the same old things all the time to my kids friends at their parties---pizza, chips, fruit tray, baby carrots, and cookies/brownies.

Maybe this book would give me some ideas to branch out and be more adventuresome for my son's bday party the end of July.

Thanks.

Ooohh...pick me, pick me! My son's birthday party is tomorrow & we're going with chips, hot dogs & sausages on the grill, green salad & lots of chocolate cake and ice cream. Definitely not organic, but great for a birthday splurge! :)

At the last birthday party we had mini-chocolate cupcakes topped with lemon frosting. They were small enough to fit in little mouths, and delicious to boot! Another plus: no silverware needed in the eating process. Also, baby carrots and broccoli dipped in ranch dressing and pink lemonade. Go finger foods!

The last birthday we had for my son, we barbecued and had a variety of pasta and vegetable salads, fresh fruit and corn on the cob. Not to forget the chocolate cake to top off the meal.

SINCE my grandson's birthday is at Christmas time being his grandmother with traditions decided with mothers permission to celebrate 1/2 birthdays so on June 21 Matthew was given his jello poke cake.He loved it and it is not full of sugar. It will now be a 1/2 birthday celebration with a jello poke cake every 1/2 birthday with different flavors. This 1/2 birthday it was orange jello poke cake.I am presently attempting to make him his own cook book and I would love to gather ideas from this book.Thank You
