Two years ago when my (then 5yo) daughter wore a beautiful handmade Dorothy dress, complete with sparkly ruby slippers and toto in a basket. I wanted my (then 18 month old) daughter to have something that would go with it so I made an adorable lion outfit from a huge stuffed lion. I removed it’s head and took out all the stuffing, cut holes in the feet and paws and then put it on her. It was the cutest thing I have ever seen. She won three contests with it.

Last Halloween, my daughter dressed up as Tigger from Winnie the Pooh. The costume was absolutely adorable complete with a springy tail! Here was my little 2 year old at the time, hopping around all over our local shopping mall gathering a bunch of goodies from door to door. Everyone got a kick out of it and she sure was a standout in the midst of all the princesses and superheroes. She had an absolute blast!

My favorite costume growing up was the good witch of the neighborhood. My mother made my costume but the best part of the costume was the boots. My mother glues candy corn and lolly pops to the shoes.I have carried this trdition every Halloween and have glued candy corn and blow pops to an old pair of Doc Martens. The kids in the neighborhood love to see each year which candies will be on the Good Witches boots.

One year for Halloween my mom made me a red dress like Annie wears and she created an orange wig made out of yarn to wear with the costume. My poor little brother had the honor of dressing as my dog, Sandy!

Well, last year was MY favorite Halloween costumes — we went to Disney World on Halloween day and my 1 year old son was Mickey, My 3 year old daughter was Minnie, I was Daisy and my husband was Goofy. I turned their double stroller into Mickey’s red Toon car (poster board attached to the sides.) I posed with Donald kissing me and my kids got their photos done with the “real” Mickey and Minnie. SO MUCH FUN!
THIS year, my daughter (who is IN LOVE with Charlie and Lola) has decided that she and her brother will be Charlie and Lola. SO fun!
