Hope it's no too late! I LOVED having an advent calendar countdown with the family starting Dec 1st. We had a felt calendar with pockets that held a small treat for each night. There was so much anticipation & excitement amongst myself & my two sisters. It's a fun tradition that I've passed along to my kids.

We celebrate family Christmas on Christmas Eve with the tradition of my mother who for years read the night before Christmas and we all sat in a circle with a gift in hand.As Mom aka Mrs Claus read the story every AND she used we pass the gift to the right,Nobody knew what the gifts were as they were wrapped in unsual ways.Mom used some of her humor and drama in the story plus lots of ANDS to have the gifts circle and circle.I cant wait for this Christmas Eve as it is my sons first time to experience this

I grew up not celebrating Christmas. As many Jewish families do, we ate Chinese food on Christmas Eve. When I married, I began cooking Christmas dinner. Last year we were out of town until the last minute, and I didn't have much time to cook a dinner, so we ordered Chinese food and celebrated with my family. I'm looking forward to that once again this year!

Our tradition started when I was a little girl. We were allowed to open just one gift on Christmas Eve. That gift was always some new PJs to wear that night and for Christmas morning. I carried that tradition on to my children. My adult daughter has now carried it on to my granddaughters. And my young daughters always look forward to it too. 3 generations later we carry on the cuddly/cozy tradition.
