Eemax and Zurno: Acrobats, puppets and contortionists cavort at Oaklandâ€™s Kinetic Arts Center stage when Eemax and Zurnoâ€™s Amazing Circus Humans take the stage for evening and matinee performances March 13-28. Tickets $10-$15.
Johnny Appleseed Day: Ardenwood, Fremontâ€™s Gold Rush era historic farm, celebrates Johnny Appleseed Day on March 14 with old-fashioned family fun, crafts and farm activities. Tickets: $5-$8.
Pi Day: San Franciscoâ€™s Exploratorium honors the most perfect of numbers – 3.14159, et al â€“ with its 22nd annual Pi Day on March 14 from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Make terrible Pi puns, indulge in Pi-inspired antics and activities, and, of course, have some pie. Free with regular museum admission.
Allemande Left: Do-si-do your way down to Berkeleyâ€™s Ashkenaz on March 14 at 3 p.m. for a family square dance with clogging master and banjo player Evie Ladin. Tickets $4-$6.
Percussion Discussion: Slam, bam, crash – anywhere else your mother would holler, but onstage at Walnut Creekâ€™s Lesher Center for the Arts, thatâ€™s a family-friendly arts event by percussionist Ken Bergmann. Bergmannâ€™s â€śPercussion Discussionâ€ť features drums, cowbells, chairs and other noisemakers now through March 13. Tickets $13.
