Lions, Tigers & Grover: Sesame Street LIVE is heading for Oakland’s Oracle Arena in June, but Bert, Ernie and Grover are popping in for a little quality time at the San Francisco Zoo this weekend. Pose for pics, give Ernie a hug and enter contests to win Sesame Street LIVE tickets during the festivities, which from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 17 and 18. Tickets: $9-$15.
Puppets Ole: Oakland’s Children’s Fairyland puppets celebrate Cinco de Mayo a little early with a fiesta show at 11 a.m. and 2 and 4 p.m. April 17 and 18. Stroll around the park, ride the toddler-friendly rides and catch the puppet action when Mondinga the Cockroach tries to choose between her many suitors. Tickets: $7, including rides and entertainment.
Calling all Heroes: The planet is doomed and only our intrepid hero can save the day – with a little help from the audience in Kenn Adams’ Adventure Theater extravaganza. Join the interactive, zany fun at 1 p.m. April 18 at Concord’s Under the Sun Studios. Tickets $12.
Turning 12: Berkeley’s Habitot Children’s Museum is celebrating its 12th birthday with an all-day party featuring Loveee the Clown, bubbles, puppets, cake and punch. The fun runs from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. April 17. Tickets:$8.50.
Conducting Clowns: The San Francisco Chamber Orchestra and Circus Bella host a wild, family-friendly concert dubbed “So You Wanna Be a Conductor!” Investigate what it takes to wave that baton at Oakland’s Laney College Theater at noon April 18. Free.
