I've always loved the Looney Tunes cartoon version where Porky the pig defends his two brothers against the big bad (and I think, jazzy) wolf.
Oh, and as you can see by my last name, I would love to have this for my daughter. I think she would get a great thrill from it.
Thank you, Robert

I'm a retired Preschool teacher and would spend all of October exploring different versions of the "Three Stories" (pigs, bears, kittens, goats, mice) with my students. Our three favorite pig stories were "The Three Little Javelinas" by Susan Lowell, "The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig" by Eugene Trivizas and Helen Oxenbury , and "The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs by A. Wolf" by Jon Scieska. I'd start by reading a traditional "Three Pigs" story and ask if it was ok to change the story. Some of my students would say that it absolutely was not ok, some were more adventurous and would want to hear more. I wanted them to know that it was ok to explore, change and re-invent. They found that they enjoyed having the permission to be imaginative, once given the chance. As the month prgressed, they were eager to hear the next set of "Three Stories". Now I enjoy sharing these same stories with my grandkids and I encourage them to come up with their own versions of their favorite stories.

my children really enjoyed The True story of the three little pigs, I don't recall the author but it was a paperback from scholastic. It has been a while but I recall that the book offered a twist to the classic to show that the wolf just really wanted to borrow a cup of sugar.

Wow - what a fantastic giveaway! I am always so excited by children's books that are inspired by African settings. This sounds like a really one fun.

To tell you the truth, I don't know that much about riffs on the pigs' tale. I just checked Wikipedia for a quick intro lesson and learned that there is a 1933 Disney cartoon called "Silly Symphony". I'll have to try to find that one.

Also, I don't know if this really counts as a Three Little Pigs variant, but I love the "This Little Piggy" rhyme that gets played on children's toesies.
