The Bard in Fremont: The Ardenwood Shakesfeare Festival and Renaissance Faire (pictured above) brings its cast of 800 actors and assorted knights of the realm to Fremont’s favorite park this weekend. The fun, which runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 11, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 12, includes a cappella singers, magicians, blacksmiths, archers and more. Tickets $8-$15; www.ardenwoodfaire.com.
Jedi Masters: San Francisco’s Zeum salutes all things “Star Wars” this weekend when costumed characters from the Clone Wars stroll the exhibits and pop into the animation and digital art studios to help kids and families create their own galactic adventures. Back at the Rancho: Get a dose of historical fun during this rollicking, educational look “Back at the Rancho.” Lasso a longhorn, throw a javelin, play Ohlone games and make hand-ground corn tortillas during this living history day at Oakland’s Peralta Hacienda Historical Park. Get blue(grass): Join in the fiddle and banjo fun at the 8th Annual Berkeley Old Time Music Convention this weekend. Hear a free family concert at the Berkeley Main Library at 10:15 a.m. on Sept. 11, then catch the free youth showcase and string band contest in Civic Center Park.
