Happy autumn! This week we’re giving away a copy of Deborah Lee Rose’s charming “All the Seasons of the Year,” a wonderfully illustrated, rhyming recounting of all the ways children – and kitties, piggies and pupppies – are loved throughout the year. Too cute for words, with lines like, “I love you when autumn fills the sky – when geese spread their wings and start to fly, when trees wear a gold and scarlet crown and leaves come gently drifting down.” And it can be yours! Click “comments” and tell us about one of your family’s favorite autumn rituals. We’ll pull a winner’s name next week.
Meanwhile, congrats to Cathy, who won the last giveaway – “The Paranoid Parents Guide.“

One of our family’s favorite autumn rituals is everyone outside together raking leaves. The best part, of course, is jumping in the giant pile of leaves when it’s all over. (Well, almost all over, because we have to rake up the leaves again after jumping in them!)

When my kids were little, our autumn rituals included a trip to a pumpkin patch or farm followed by an afternoon of pumpkin carving. Watching geese on the wing was not a ritual we could plan for, but the spontaneous sight of them was always a thrill that we shared as a family.

I love that we live where we celebrate all four seasons
of the year! What an adorable book to read to our
children and talk about what we each enjoy about the
various seasons and the changes that go along with
them…
Many thanks to you!
