Terrifying Tennis: There’s plenty of Halloween fun in Pleasanton this weekend when the Pleasant Tennis Complex hosts terrifying tennis matches and a Haunted Hallway of Horror — plus, yummy treats — from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 29. Free; www.ci.pleasanton.ca.us.

The fun starts at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 28-30 at the new Firehouse Arts Center (pictured). Tickets $5-$10.

Sanguine Spooks: San Francisco’s Exploratorium celebrates Halloween afternoon with sugar skulls, tarantulas and other spooky treats in the Graveyard of Dead Science Ideas. The fun runs from noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 31. Free with regular museum admission; www.exploratorium.edu.

Halloween Stomp: Don a costume, put on your dancing shoes and head over to Sausalito’s irresistible Bay Area Discovery Museum for a Halloween Stomp party featuring the Time Outs. The fun begins at 11 a.m. Oct. 30. Tickets $5-$12; www.BayKidsMuseum.org.
