Eveland taking the 5th?

It appears Dana Eveland will be the A’s fifth starter once the regular season begins. He gets the ball for one of the Japan exhibitions, and about the last of the competition for the spot was reassigned today.
Eveland has looked very good in his past two Cactus League starts.

I thought the two games in Japan were regular season games? Did I miss something?

The A’s will play two exhibition games in Japan before they open the regular season there against the Red Sox.
