I am thrilled that Duke got the nod for the All Star game. He certainly deserves it. Incidentally, I got an email from MLB.com today offering All Star jerseys, showing one eith Duke's name and number on it, presumably because I registered the A's as my favorite team on MLB.com. When I went to the site to see what exorbitant price they were charging ($119.99 + tax and shipping), I found that they didn't have one for me to order. I had to do a custom jersey to get one with his name and number on it. Another example to show you how MLB views our small market team. At that price, I wouldn't buy one anyway.

I agree 100% about Mark Ellis and Bobby Crosby, but, let's face it, we are a small market team and there is still that perception that the East Coast, where baseball held pride of place for 80+ years, is where the real baseball action is at. It isn't fair, but it is what it is. Ellie certainly deserves a gold glove at 2nd base, but will he get it? I hope so, but I wouldn't bet the farm on it.
