I agree 100%. MLB needs to return to its roots for this expedition game. Here's my thoughts:

(1) the best 3 Starters from each league should pitch no less than 2 innings, so long as they have a pitch count under 30. If a 70 year old can throw 50 pitches, why can't "professionals" throw 20 less?

(2) For (1) to lessen the chance of injury, the selection process should end no later than 2 weeks before the game. Then, Managers can adjust the schedule of those pitchers, and Clubs can't complain about losing their best pitchers due to the chance of injury.

(3) Relievers cannot be pulled from the game with less than 1 inning of work. The only condition that would allow a shorter work-load is lack of control (2 BB) or men in scoring position with less than 2 outs.

Is this too difficult? I swear the MLB is run by men who have been hit in the head too many times. They're so lucky that Baseball is still the favorite American past-time, because they'd be closing the door on several clubs a year, if they were another sport.
