It is embarrassing when a #3 hitter cannot put the ball in play. Cust struck out 4 times Saturday. Yes, he walked twice, but so what? In the absence of another power hitter, at least give that spot in the order to a guy who might hit singles or doubles.

If Billy Beane moves Huston Street before the trade deadline, he’d better get back a proven major league hitting threat. Failing that, the pressure on Oakland’s young starting pitchers could spin this teetering ship out of control.
