1) As to your first question, I don’t know. They both look terible most of the time but have moments of brilliance, like last night’s A’s game against the Rays. It was actually fun being at the Coliseum for a change. Gio Gonzales has so much poise on the mound, and as he showed in his first start, he doesn’t fall apart after a little adversity, as some of the other kids on the pitching staff seem to. I hope that last night can kick-start the team and they will get back on a winning path. If so, they will kick the Giant’s you-know-what.

Second, I’d love to see Trevor Cahill be called up, but I don’t think it is a good idea if he can’t handle such a metoric rise and gets traumatized in the process. As a September call-up, fine, but before then, I’m not sure it is a good idea.

As for the roster moves, I agree that maybe Lenny DiNardo should just go home. He has never found his sea legs in the majors and his last stint was unremarkable at best.

I am glad about the Pennington move, solid walk to k ratio. Hopefully can get on base and show off some of his speed. Does anyone know about his glove work? Street should have gotten the heave ho as the closer 2 weeks or more ago. I wouldn’t put him in any game at anytime without the A’s being up or down by three runs. Let him get some confidence built back up (Earn) his way back and make him a 8th inning guy, alternating between him, Devine and Blevins. Have Casilla be the first guy in and give Brown mop up duty. Leaving Meyer as the long man. Ziggy of course stays as the closer until he shows as Street did that he doesn’t deserve it.
