This guy needs to get his head together. Listening to the A’s radio team, they constantly talk about his great stuff and his lack of consistency. He needs to understand that he was not traded straight-up for Rich Harden. There will be plenty of talented starters in Sacramento trying to supplant Gallagher if he cannot learn how to focus on throwing quality strikes.

By the way, my take on the Harden trade is that the main guy we received is catcher Josh Donaldson. He could really be special. By flipping Matt Murton for Corey Wimberley, I can see Corey as the next Tony Phillips. I’m not enthusiastic about Eric Patterson. Then we’re back to Sean Gallagher. I do want him to succeed, but he needs to develop a sense of urgency.
