I agree with you and the others. Dana Eveland should be let go. He's a head case. He has okay stuff but he doesn't have the will or the determination to be successful. I am really sorry that Simmons and Kilby are having rough goes at triple A. I had high hopes for Simmons (26th overall in the 2007 draft). He told me at spring training that he still had some things to work on, so that may account for his up and down performance this year.

I love the "Down on the Farm" weekly reports.

Hi Rick,
My thoughts on Dana Eveland are exactly as yours. When you see a skinny young man like Dallas Braden gut it out yesterday after being torched by a line drive, you look at Eveland and see the other end of the spectrum. Eveland lacks focus, determination, and even commitment to his team. When he gave back a 6-1 lead in Toronto and threw a ball into center field two days later in the extra innings loss, he personally sent this time back into a funk. With all the injuries plus slow starts by certain veterans, you could still see the effort by the team to turn things around. I have not seen any such effort or commitment from him. Now we know why Milwaukee and Arizona both gave up on him.
