Amen to Suzuki being the A’s MVP for 2009. He does it all and makes it look easy.

It appears from the fact that there hasn’t been an article in the Times about the A’s in a week, nor a blog plst since October 8th, that not much is going on. Nothing to write about? How about Carney Lansford being fired by the Giants and whether there is a possibility he could come to the A’s? An interesting story about what the players are doing during the offseason? Something? Anything for us diehard A’s fans?

Tough to argue with that pick, Mark. Each season Suzuki is adding a different dimension to his game (this season he added power). And I don’t think you can overlook the work he did with that young pitching staff. Was there a major league catcher who made more trips to the mound in 2009?

But my under-the-radar MVP pick: Michael Wuertz. The A’s couldn’t have imagined they’d get the numbers Wuertz put up. We’ll see how that pays off for him in arbitration, huh? …
