Duke has had back and hip problems dating back to a serious car accident, no doubt aggravated by pitching. The pain he had in the SI joint in the spring indicated that something was not right in that area, and the nerve ablation only masked the pain without addressing the issue. Whatever is causing problems continued to get worse after the procedure, only he couldn't feel it as much. The left and right hip are connected by the SI joint to the spine, of course. Duke now says he felt the discomfort several starts ago (meaning right at the beginning of the season, since we're still in April), but he was getting treatment in the trainer's room and managing the pain. But the damage kept occurring, and now his body won't allow him to ignore it.

Really bad news, of course, but how could it not have been expected?

What is in the water at the Coliseum ?? This is getting ridiculous over the last 3 years.
And now Coco, Anderson, Kurt, Duke, Buck and Ellis? in one month? The ironic thing is Chavy is the health one. It boggles the mind.
