But I don’t think it got very far, if there was even discussion. Matsui wasn’t looking like a guy who could play the outfield, and I’m not sure the A’s wanted a strictly-DH type guy. Matsui hasn’t had a great overall season, but he’s done damage against the A’s, that’s for sure …
