I just don’t see much in the farm system ready to make a major impact for 2011, with Carter the only realistic choice to be a regular contributor. The fact Taylor wasn’t called up when there’s no reason not to tells me he won’t be in the mix at the beginning of next season. He may very well be a star down the line, but it doesn’t appear it’s going to happen. Wolff is not going to spend a lot of money on a free agent who can help this anemic offense, so it’s time to bit the bullet and make an offseason trade and deal some of the pitching. I just hope it’s Braden and not Gio, Anderson or Cahill. Maybe Braden, Sweeney and Cardenas to Arizona for Mark Reynolds and a pitching prospect???? Something needs to be done to not waste all this quality starting pitching. Surely Bob Geren is not going to motivate these guys to have a Padres-like run next season. It’s going to take manpower to get to another level.
