I’ve been beggin Cal fans for a goldout at Memorial Stadium, but they’re too individualistic. I’m glad it is working for the A’s, but will fans follow suit?

Weeks will need spot breaks to get him through the entire season. Marc my words… I’d hope Melvin wisely realizes this and is very careful, so the kid keeps the energy up. There’s a reason why they call the end of the season, the dog days… Why not use Ellis like Rosales in a utility role and go with the hot hands? Then again, dumping 6 million ain’t bad in Beaneball…

I watched the mets/A’s game last night. Several observations:

> The offense is still triple a caliber.

> The old bull IS A TERRIBLE BASE RUNNER. he’s base to base.

> Fluentes should join Barton in the minors. When he’s bad, which is often, more games are in jeopardy.

Looking forward to watching Gonzales pitch tonight.

There is NO WAY IN HELL Weeks comes out of the lineup. I was a big Ellis fan, but he cannot hit. It would not be a good idea at all to put him at first or third because he has zero punch in his bat. Weeks is a total stud and it would be foolish and irresponsible to take him out of the lineup. Go A’s

Melvin has them fighting back and I’m glad they sent down that dead weight Barton!

Weeks is a stud!

Weeks stays in the lineup and Ellis is the backup or spot starter now.

Why not have Ellis play first, and Weeks play second – especially when a lefty starts. I seem to recall Ellis playing at least a few games at first in previous years.

I would have to agree about Barton, if I was making the decision.
Looks like 6 in a row, lets go gold jerseys.
It really should not be a tough decision with Ellis right now, Weeks is playing to good, he has to stay in the line-up.
And heres hoping Willingham is back and healthy SOON.

Not to dump on Barton, but…
I don’t even know why there’s a question on who should go down? Forget a couple of months to figure it out, this guy’s had years at this point to establish himself. At what point do you just call the situation for what it is. He simply didn’t develop/work out/ reach his ceiling.
