LaRussa ripped ‘Moneyball’..both the movie and sabermetrics,on a local radio show. Tony did point out that the A’s starters and Miguel Tejada,were spotted by A’s scouts,went through the minors and then the big leagues the usual way. Nothing especially sabermetric to it.
I always thought the A’s scouting system over the DECADES has been outstanding. Beane sure didn’t travel to Cuba,find Yoenis and then get him for minimum wage by himself using sabermetrics.
