Josh Reddick's WWE championship belt the real deal this time

PHOENIX – Finally, Josh Reddick isn’t faking it any more.

It was a year ago at this time that Reddick, then new to the A’s, did the station-by-station tour that is photo day at Phoenix Municipal Stadium with a replica championship belt from WWE, the wrestling consortium of which Reddick is a huge fan.

Monday he made the same tour wearing a real WWE belt, one once won and worn by Triple H.

“I got this one a couple of days after photo day last year,’’ Reddick said. “I’m friends with Triple H, and he sent me this one and said if I’m going to wear one, I should wear a real one.’’

After being a fan of wrestling as a kid, the 25-year-old Reddick said he got away from the sport until about five years ago. Now he takes in as much of it as he can, he knows many of the wrestlers personally and has spent time backstage at some of the wrestling venues around the county.

“I wore the belt to all the stops here today,’’ Reddick said. “Whether it will make it into any of the photos, I don’t know.’’
