I still believe that the stars have aligned for a Pac-10 championship and a Rose Bowl victory for the Bears. It just wouldn't be right for Cal to beat AridZona, lose to USC, beat Stanfurd and become co-champions!? That's Big Sissy stuff! Real champions don't back their way, or tip-toe into a championship. Nobody, especially the BCS pollsters would ever respect the Bears accomplishments this year if this happened. As I see it, to be the Heavyweight Champion of the World....you've got to knock out the champion with everything on the line in one fight! If there was ever a game where Cal and it's football program could earn respect and validation as one of the nations best collegiate teams.... it's this one with SC. If Cal wants to be considered the "Champs", they will have to earn it with alot of body shots and a knockout left hook to the ugly Trojan mug! There can't be any dispute when you see the Trojan lying flat on his face with the big Golden Bear standing on top of him with his giant foot on the back of his neck! I believe this is what the stars have aligned for us to see....why do you think the freaky things happened the way they did in the Aridzona game? C'mon, a wide open Hawkins stumbles at the two yard line? Lynch can't make 2 yards? Ref's call a routine play, pass interference on Dante? (ya really think they won because of great 'Cat defense? Oh, please...you're killing me if you believe this!) Don't you think the Football Gods want to see a great fight? It was destined to go down this way. It's going to be exciting to finally see the Bears become undisputed champs! BEARS ROLL ON!

the one area of offensive adjustment I'd like to see Coach Tedford employ when offense starts to sputter....go into "hurry up' 2 minute offense...in the 1st,2nd,3rd and or 4th quarter regardless the score.
AZ game....what hurts more in that loss to me....losing against such a low-life coach that openly berated his offensive coach on the sidelines when AZ QB called timeouts on several occasions. His constant ranting and raving along the sidelines with officials should've drawn a flag at some point.
The Cal team made some mistakes but the officials made more and they were more costly. There were several times the game clock was at 0.00 and AZ was still allowed to get off play. The 4 and 1 AZ play with Cal leading 17-10 at AZ's own 30 yd.line in late 3rd quarter needs PAC 10 review. The sideline official nearest the play came running up after AZ QB sneak and was pushed back from line of scrimmage and official was BEFORE 30 yd.line ready to spot ball after players were separated from pile BUT the othe sideline offiial (furthest from play) came running to play just BEHIND the 30yd. line.Th balwas tossed to official BEFORE 30 yrd. line but other official called for the ball so he could place it and he did ....enough for 1st down.
The pass interference call on Hughes was SUSPICIOUS...I've replayed that a dozen times via slo-moton and pause on my VCR and it was THE GAME CHANGER OF THE DAY.....that was the FIX IS IN PHANTOM CALL which should be explained by someone from PAC 10 office.
fINALLY, was this the same officiating crew that did Stop's brothers game (Okla/Oregon)? I know Dave Katai was involved with both games.
