Nate Longshore

Just got off a conference call with Jeff Tedford, who said he expects quarterback Nate Longshore to play in the next game. He said Longshore probably won’t do a whole lot this week. Assuming the time off helps the ankle heal, Longshore should be ready to go against Oregon State on Oct. 13. It’s good fortune for the Bears that this is their bye week.

That is good news. How is Malele feeling? How much did he play Saturday. I don’t remember hearing his name much….

He actually played a lot. I think he’s fine.

What about Follett and Rulon Davis?

Any hope that Tedford would start Riley at QB against the Beavers, and bring in Nate only if we struggle and/or fall behind? OSU is pretty bad this year, and having Riley gain some experience would help. I know I know, probably no way in hell this’ll happen, but we will need Nate *badly* at UCLA.

Ben, I have another post with the other injuries — I wanted to post the information on Nate immediately because I know everyone was wondering. Follett should be back and Davis is still up in the air. Ta’ufo’ou is back. Schneider is questionable and Robert Peele is out 2-3 weeks.

dmitry, I don’t think Tedford would do that. But I would think he’d be happy to get Nate out of there if the Bears can build a big lead.
