Some of you may have seen that Lavelle Hawkins made quite an impression in yesterday’s Senior Bowl. He had three catches for 63 yards (the most yards of any receiver for either team), including a 36-yard touchdown catch that opened the scoring. He also had a 33-yard effort on his only kickoff return.
Justin Forsett and Thomas DeCoud had quieter nights. Forsett rushed for 27 yards on a team-high nine carrries, and was also stopped on a crucial 4th-and-1 late in the game. DeCoud had four tackles.
By all accounts, Hawkins had a very good week and solidified his chances to go in the first couple of rounds of the draft. Next up, many of Cal’s players will participate in Pro Day, which is next month. Scouts and personnel evaluators from all over the NFL will descend on Memorial Stadium to take a look at the Bears’ potential NFL prospects.
