It may be raining these days….

….but believe it or not, spring practice seems like it’s right around the corner. Just got some of the specifics on the spring. The first practice is on March 17. In general, they practice about three days a week for for about a month with a 10-day break near the beginning. Spring practice ends with the third and final scrimmage on April 17.

In years past, the final spring practice was a spring game. Last year, it was more like a controlled scrimmage with situational practice. That’s what it will be like again this year. Haven’t heard for sure if it’s open to the public, but the last practice usually is. As always, all other practices are closed to the public.

So there you have it. Get your helmet and pads on because before you know it, we will be following the competition at quarterback, wide receiver, running back, the defensive line, free safety and cornerback, just to name a few.

Check me on the schedule. Isn’t the usual final scrimmage on a Saturday? April 17 is a Thursday???

Is it true that the program is rated under Stanford in recruiting?

  • Jonathan Okanes

Bro, you are right. Mistake on my part. Last practice is April 19th. Thanks.

  • California Pete

Yes, MoreNCs, you’re right. Stanford is currently crushing Cal in recruiting…in recruiting Bush administration cast-offs to the faculty, that is.

Berklee is dumb. Burklay is weak. Berkahle recruiting is behind. blah blah blah. Hey moroniscoming, I see that everyone was ignoring your trolling on the scout.com boards so you came here instead. Why don’t you go back to your cave on the $C boards and tell them about your great school, UC Dave & Busters.

with lots of young talent all starting out even (according to Tedford) this should be a very interestng and extremely competitive Spring Practice. Hope to see some in-depth coverage since we don’t know a whole lot about the receivers, running backs and many other underclassmen. I will be reading with interest. Keep up the good work JO!

Come on guys, play a Spring Game! Every other D-1 school plays a Spring Game. That’s just lame to play a “final scrimmage”. Are you kidding me?
