Hi, everyone. Just wanted to check in and let everyone know that the blog is taking a few days off while I welcome a new addition to my family. I should be back by the end of the week and will report off Friday’s practice.

Congratulations Jonathan!

Congrats! We’ll survive with other Cal blogs in your absence. Enjoy the lack of sleep!
April 14th, 2008 at 4:10 pm
Congrats man! Enjoy life, and I think the Golden Bear Nation will manage.
April 14th, 2008 at 4:28 pm
Congrats
April 14th, 2008 at 6:46 pm
JO, congratulations on the new arrival!
April 14th, 2008 at 8:40 pm
Congratulations from me and all of those who parody me. Make sure he grows up to be a Trojan. Follow a winner.
April 15th, 2008 at 12:49 am
OH GOD YOU CLONED YOURSELF?!
ok no seriously congratulations, and god forbid he become a u$c fan.

Another Bear is born! Even if it’s a girl, I suggest wrapping the child in a blue blanket… You never know when you might run across a rabid Bears fan with a strong distaste of red and it’s cousin pink.
April 15th, 2008 at 7:51 am
Congrats.
April 15th, 2008 at 7:58 am
How dare you stop covering Cal for something as trivial as a new baby! Congrats JO!
April 15th, 2008 at 8:28 am
Uh oh. I am a little late on my meds. Looks like one of my dominant personalities already congratulated you – but wait, it mentioned me! I own myself! I own myself! (Does that mean I am the dominant personality?)
I agree with my other personality said – Congratulations! But why settle for being one Trojan when you can be many? Heck, when I am off my antipsychotics I am a one person Trojan Band, Tommy Trojan and his horse! Somebody cue up “Conquest!” for me…
April 15th, 2008 at 2:23 pm
Congrats, JO. I’m sure Call will be able to accomodate a crib in the press box.
April 15th, 2008 at 2:36 pm
CONGRATULATIONS to you and your wife! We hope all is well…
April 15th, 2008 at 4:54 pm
Congratulations, Jon! Unfortunately, we still have a few smart-asses trying to get your goat. I won’t mention any names, but it sounds to me like a particular ‘moron’ needs to lay off a few of his meds. No, wait… on second thought, maybe he should take about TEN times as many! Swallow the entire contents of every bottle, moron! Ya jerk…
April 15th, 2008 at 6:07 pm
Congratulations Jon!!!
April 15th, 2008 at 10:42 pm
congrats JO

Can you settle a matter for me? A friend of mine was hiring different people for a job and this guy who claimed to be a devoted Berkley football fan said that (a)Tedford would have them in the Rose Bowl very soon and (b)the drought of not going to the Rose Bowl since 1980 will have ended. What is more accurate? (a) or (b)?

If JO is on hiatus, let me pose a question that can feed our Bear obsession for the next day or two. For the last two years, Cal has launched web sites for star players to give them Heisman hype (Lynch in ’06, Jackson in ’07). Who’s going to get the web site this year? Or will Cal even have one? (And please do not respond with Mack. A lineman will never win the award, no matter how dominate he is)

Congratulations Jonathan! Sorry, wrong topic for parody.
April 16th, 2008 at 11:34 am
Congratulations JO!
And for those who want to see moren aka amythicalprogram at his/her/its finest, look no further than this thread:

Tyler, I think there could be a mid-season launch of a site for Best or Riley…assuming they were having a SPECTACULAR season by the Oregon game. Otherwise, no, I don’t see it happening for other potential stars out there…they’re too young and/or inexperienced.

Frankly the two that have been promoted didn’t exactly set the college football world on fire. I don’t think either one even got invited to NYC. Sooner or later you have to produce the goods (aka Garrett, Simpson, Allen, White, Palmer, Leinart, Bush) or else the media hype which created turns against you.
April 16th, 2008 at 1:04 pm
Although the web site promotion of Lynch and Jackson may have done nothing to raise their stock, the lack thereof for Arrington hurt him in his 2,000+ season.

Now that I think about it, seeing as I can’t even get into USC and I troll at UC Davis, I pray to God that your newborn child is lucky enough to get into the best university on the planet, Cal. I’m ashamed of myself.

Moren,
I am surprised that daddy hasn’t told you the name of Jonathan’s newborn even before JO himself knows.
JO, happy parenting.
April 16th, 2008 at 2:56 pm
Wonderful news! Congratulations! I am sure that the little one will learn quickly to exclaim, “GO BEARS!”

Montezuma, that was the best line of the day, well done!
JO, really happy for you and your family, you deserve a lot of happiness for all that you’ve given us here on this blog. Best wishes.

Congrats. I found out today that I am having a daughter in 6 months. My first, soon to be a BEAR, or whatever she wants. The first is an experience. Hope yours is going as interestingly as mine. Best to the wife.
April 16th, 2008 at 6:33 pm
JO,
Please tell us you didn’t name your new child Amy. I’m not sure anyone here could handle that right now.
April 16th, 2008 at 7:44 pm
Way to go J.O. Okay, you get the big assist and your wife gets the real props. Hope things go well.
April 17th, 2008 at 11:02 am
Congratulations. It is a very special event.
CAL football can wait (for a few days at least).
Go Bears.

Hey JO,
I noticed that Amy’s post are being moderated and delayed a couple of days to make them irrelevant.
thanks for that and the quality blog!
