Looking ahead

Well, now that the beginning of training camp is less than a month away, the beginning of the season is becoming more of a reality. With that in mind, we’ll start providing info on Michigan State when it is available. Here is a brief analysis that ran in today’s Detroit Free Press, examining the Spartans’ prospects at wide receiver.

As far as Michigan State’s overall prospects, we’ll obviously get more in depth as the season nears. But generally, the Spartans seem to be ranked just outside the top 25 by more preseason prognosticators.

Welcome back, JO. I loved how Rivals placed MSU and Cal back to back in their preseason poll. However, I don’t get how Cincy and Pitt from the Big EASY are ahead of both teams. I guarantee that Cal won’t be at the end of the season.

The WR situation at MSU sounds familiar…we may see a few dropped passes and QB/WR miscommunication on both sides of the ball!

MSU-Cal is one of the better opening weekend games, and a very good test for both teams. Maryland will be Cal’s travel test with a cross-country early game. This is one of the better non-conference schedules I’ve seen in a while and should have the Bears dialed-in for conference play.
