Some of you may already know about this, but Cal is holding its annual women’s huddle in a few weeks. Here is a link with the information from calbears.com.
Speaking of calbears.com, there is a neat new intro when you first arrive at the site, featuring football highlights as a promotion for tickets.

Hey J.O. can you fill us in as to what the team did over the summer, and what they are doing now? I know that there is the strength program, but what else goes on? Does the team get out to the field at all? Who is in charge? etc…

Robert, the majority of the work is strength and conditioning. The team does get on the field semi-regularly for 7-on-7s or informal workouts, but they are not organized by the coaches. Typically it’s the seniors that are in charge of the workouts.

If I may add to J.O. comments, I reads on Scouts.com in the forums that the strength and conditioning coach John Krasinski is in charge of the summer workouts which DO NOT include the 7-on-7s. According to the boys over at Scouts.com, he is the only coach who is able to work with the players during the summer. I actually recall seeing him with about a dozen players on the stairs in Memorial Stadium, when I was still on campus. It would be interesting to hear if Longshore is involved in the 7-on-7s, or is he still nursing his injury?
I saw Michael Calvin and other players leading the youth football camp 2 weeks ago. It was a beautiful contrast to the tree-huggers who were making the evening news, as the camp was at the Maxwell Field.
