Monday afternoon

Welcome to the last week of training camp. Let’s start off with a few links:

–ESPN.com’s Ted Miller doesn’t break any news, but has a pretty good piece on Jahvid Best. The message? Best is fast.

–Cal is celebrating the end of camp with its annual Fan Appreciation Day on Saturday, but this one has a little more meaning than usual.

–The Detroit Free Press has some notes from Michigan State’s scrimmage on Saturday.

    Jonathan–
I’d like to propose a feature that I think BearTalk readers and local college football fans might enjoy: a PAC-10/NFL Fantasy Football League. The idea would be to keep track of the Touchdowns scored in the NFL by the alums of the various PAC-10 teams. It could be done on an individual school basis or a regional combined entry basis: Cal/Stanford, USC/UCLA, and the Oregon, Arizona and Washington schools. I think it would be a fun way of keeping track of how the players from the PAC-10 are doing in the NFL. There are lots of alumni/supporters of all the PAC-10 schools here in the Bay Area who I think would follow the weekly scoreboard. Tracking TD’s only would make it fairly easy to keep score. Maybe you could run it by your readers and see if the interest is there. What do you guys (fellow posters) think?

Thanks for the bone marrow registration announcement. That’s the first thing I’m doing when I get there.
