The grind of training camp makes it so nice to be able to say that Cal is finally playing a game tomorrow. There has been so much analysis and discussion of these new Bears, and now we’ll finally start to get some answers. But right now, some reading:

–Here’s some notes from today’s paper, following up on Cameron Jordan’s suspension and new kicker Giorgio Taveccio.

–ESPN.com’s Ted Miller clarifies the uproar over comments made by a reporter, not Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio, about Cal’s crowd.

–Jeff Tedford’s latest blog entry went up yesterday, where he touches on the quarterback situation among other things.

–A message from Cal’s athletic department: Yes, you can see this game!

–No breaking news here, but a good feature on Jahvid Best.

–You’ll have to scroll down a bit, but here is some good stuff from the Michigan State perspective

–The player to watch on MSU’s defense is linebacker Greg Jones.

–One of Michigan State’s biggest uncertainties is at wide receiver. Sound familiar?

    GO BEARS!

Just wondering. Has Jahvid Best had a recent MRI to confirm that everything is A-OK with his rehabbed hip? We’ve all read reports how he feels fine but doesn’t it make sense to verify his condition before subjecting him to game conditions?

Another question. Does Cal routinely time all the players at spring or fall practice? I remember Tedford talking about how certain guys “looked fast”. How come the only time we see player’s 40 yard dash times published are in high school scouting reports and NFL combine reports? I would think they’re timed between entering college and the NFL draft, but it never seems to get mentioned.

It looks like this game could be determined by (1) Best and (2) Riley. I look forward to seeing them bring us Bearbackers into a frenzy…

Big D, it was each team’s 1st game. I bet both teams will have different outcomes in two or three weeks.

    Goooo Beearrss!

Goldie, Best has been through every test known to man. Believe me, Cal was incredibly cautious with him. He wouldn’t be out there if there was even a shadow of a doubt he wasn’t healed.
Cal does timing over the summer.

    Huh?

Sorry, Big D, wrong thread. I was replying about your comments on OSU and Stanfraud…
