Top 25

Despite the quality win over Michigan State, Cal remained 28th in the Associated Press top 25 today. Three teams that were ahead of the Bears last week fell behind them, but three other teams leapfrogged past them.

Virginia Tech, Tennessee and Pittsburgh, who were each in the top 25 last week, lost their season-openers and fell behind Cal. Clemson, which lost to Alabama in the opener, also fell out of the top 25 but is 26th.

Two teams moved past Cal and into the top 25. Utah, which beat Michigan on the road, debuted at No. 22. UCLA checked in at No. 23 after its stirring win over Tennessee on Monday night. East Carolina, which beat Virginia Tech, sits at No. 27 after not receiving a single vote in the preseason.

Cal should be No. 1 in the polls not USC. Mark my words now, Ohio State will take down my Trojans next week.

With Cal barely beat an unranked team will not help Cal to be on top of 25. At lease not yet, until they beat a quality ranked team like ASU or OU, I would think. Beating WaSu may not be enough, they atleast need to win a few more games without lost.

However, I like what I saw on Cal’s running duo, and in Kevin Riley. A new generation of running attack is borned. They both are extremely fast and illusive. Each gained 100+ yards. They both still have a couple of more years to come. And, with Kevin’s careful choice on offense, I think Cal have a good chance. Just the WRs are needed to improve the most.

Notheless, I see why they put UCLA on top. With their relentless attack and pick on the QB with their defense. Cal better be prepare to fend off those LBs. in CAL-UCLA game. And, we need to rock the memorial stadium on Oct. 25 showdown.

    Go Bears!

Your observation is correct - Cal can’t expect much of a rise in ranking when they beat a lower ranked team, on its home field by a scary 7 points. It looks like the Bears might be able to start off 4-0 and this may get them some recognition. I don’t know where the wins would come from, but, if they can get 4 more wins after that it will be a ‘good’ season and then next year - WOW!!

Can anyone tell readership why UCB will not play Fresno State. Tedford is a FSU grad. If you beat them you have bragging rights to being the second best team in California. If you beat them you also will be ranked since they are not your typical preseason cupcakes.

As soon as you explain why USC won’t play them, we’ll answer your question Moron.

Plus — you’ve asked the question before. What’s with the obsession? You seem to hate Cal. What happened — got rejected by them? And if you’re such an SC fan, how come you don’t post on any USC blogs? Aren’t you more of a Cal hater than an $C fan?

As soon as you explain why USC won’t play them, we’ll answer your question Moron. >>>>>> Played in Reggie’s junior year. Greatest single display of offense by one player in college football history.

And if you’re such an SC fan, how come you don’t post on any USC blogs? Aren’t you more of a Cal hater than an $C fan? >>>>>>>> 3 posts today alone on an SC blog and mine are usually the most responded to of the bunch.

  7. CalBear Says:

What’s the difference between a message board and a blog, Moron? Check that out. And 2 of the 3 messages you posted today on the minor SC board were about Cal, not SC. Typical you. A Cal Hater — not an SC fan. Is that why the big SC board — WeAreSC banned you? You keep saying they didn’t, but you never post there.

  8. CalBear Says:

Oh, and you have to be an amateur to be a college player, Moron. Reggie Bush was a pro pretending to go to college

And wasn’t he a sociology major?

Oh, and you have to be an amateur to be a college player, Moron. Reggie Bush was a pro pretending to go to college >>>>>>>>>>> Enjoying your lunchtime Sherman? Reggie’s talent and skill had nothing to do with a corrupt sports agent. It was about great coaching, great offensive schemes and unbelievable supporting cast - Leinart, Jarrett, White, Baker, Rachal, etc.

And 2 of the 3 messages you posted today on the minor SC board were about Cal, not SC. >>>>> Lies Sherman!!!!! Show the links for proof!
Is that why the big SC board — WeAreSC banned you? >>>> I am not banned there.

  11. CalBear Says:

    Who is this Sherman, moron?

And how come you can post all day if you are supposedly a lawyer? Oh that’s right. You didn’t finish CalStateDavis law. I guess Cal was right to reject your application to Boalt.

Saying you can post to WeAreSC is kinda hollow when you don’t prove it, Moron. And have you figured out the difference between a blog and a msesage board yet?

And I notice no defense of USC’s pro player Reggie Bushy. I wonder if he was friends with pro player Mayo?

$C — the finest team money can buy.
